DNY World Trade Center Responder Vin D., and Family Member Loreen S. share their personal stories of September 11th in their 9/11 Tribute Museum presentation of We Were There on stage at the National September 11th Memorial Museum.

Vinny was a captain with the New York City Fire Department, and was responsible for special emergency equipment that was usually deployed outside of the city to disaster zones like hurricanes or floods. He never thought that he would ever have to use it in New York. His story tells of his transportation of this equipment to Ground Zero, his experience of being at the site, and the unexplainable occurrences that he witnessed afterward.

Loreen's son Matthew worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the upper floors of the North Tower, and was among the 1300 workers who had no hope of escaping on 9/11. Loreen speaks of her son's heartbreaking final phone call, the moment she realized that she had to move on, and her journey to healing through establishing a foundation in his name.
