Sudamja is by far the biggest local holiday in Split, celebrated for centuries on May 7th. It's dedicated to the city's patron saint, early Christian bishop in nearby Roman City of Salona, Domnius (Dujam or Duje)
Days before May the 7th, it is tradition for Ivica Matković to climb the Croatian flag on top of the bell tower of Saint Duje cathedral.
