A last minute change of plans sends us to Wilmington North Carolina to the Cape Fear River for some island hopping down the Northeast Cape Fear River into the convergence with the Cape Fear, then heading north though Carolina Beach on the ICW to Masonboro Island Reserve area to Trails End Park. Leaving the back waters coming into the Wilmington Boardwalk area just at Sunset then heading out to the huge open waters in the Cape Fear delta area provided a full range of views and atmosphere shifts for our adventure over the 4 days. It's a trip we didn't expect yet turned out to be one of the most memorable ones to date!
