We remade our cheap Walmart floor lamp, steampunk style! This is a really easy was to spruce up an old lamp, or just create a new one from scratch! : )

The Process:

We started by breaking down the old floor lamp so that we could use some of the components. We removed all the electrical wiring and salvaged what we could. We kept the main head of the lamp and the arm section. Once torn down, we attempted to reuse the base but found out that it would not be possible given the fact that it started to break as we tried to drill it for the base conduit piece. We ended up using a weightlifting weight as the base and use some high strength epoxy to secure the conduit coupling to the base. We then used standard conduit and a junction box to make up the rest of the lamp. Once it was all assembled the junction box made a perfect location for all the wiring to come together. We used some steel fencing wire to create the "shades". We painted it all a bronze color and topped it all off with some LED Edison style bulbs.
