Gurugram's Basai wetland has been recognised as an Important Bird Area for the incredible diversity of resident and migratory birds it hosts. It also plays a key role in recharging groundwater of the severely water scarce Gurugram area. Unfortunately, a new masterplan and a slew of developments threaten to destroy this vital ecosystem. Will we recognise its importance before it's too late?
