Today I’m playing hole 12 at Mickelson National, a 488 yard par 4. If the wind is in your face, the tee shot from the back is extremely long. A carry of around 250 yards is required to make the fairway and even more if you don’t want a blind approach of 220 yards into this heavily sloping green. The fairway is shaped like an amphitheater sloping towards the center on both sides. A well placed tee shot can hit the speed slot giving you an approach of around 130 yards into this green. Often you’ll need to land your approach short and bounce it onto this sloped green otherwise you may find yourself rolling off the back.

He has since redeveloped some courses, and has been focused on some of his new acquisitions while preparing to open Mickelson National in 2020.
