Yes, concrete can be recycled. There are places to bring old concrete to be recycled and reused. Concrete that is "clean", or without steel embedded in it, is much easier and cheaper to dispose of, whether bringing to the landfill for dumping or a concrete recycling center.

Recycled concrete can be crushed down into a gravel or powder, sifted, and reused in new concrete mixes. It can also be used as a clean fill for new concrete pours. It basically acts as a large gravel aggregate and increases bulk-of-yield as it takes up a lot of room.

When sorting your concrete garbage and debris, be sure to sort it as with and without steel so you can save some money on disposal.
