Cooking with a kettle kone or vortex is a great way to supercharge any charcoal kettle .Am I using charcoal briquettes properly is the most common question I get asked.

Vortex and kettle kones are really starting to become popular, and there's no real surprise when you learn how to use them correctly.

So you just bought a Weber BBQ and now you're wondering "How do I light the charcoal briquettes properly?"

Well, I’m here to show you how. Over the years I’ve heard the same question a thousand times.

“I just can’t get the same temps others do”

So we go through all of the parameters, weather, BBQ set up, fuel type used and the most common issue is, not allowing the fuel to fully alight before putting it into the BBQ.

But why does this stop it reaching its full potential, it is still burning away yeah?

True, but once enclosed in a BBQ, even with the vents fully open, it is starved of the amount of oxygen it had outside of the BBQ.
So, in this video we are going to get straight to the point and show you, exactly when to put your briquettes into your BBQ.
