Milano Centrale, 05-10-2024. Born in 1929 first as a royal train for the Savoy family, it was converted after World War II into the presidential train of the Italian Republic. Many illustrious personalities travelled on board, after the royals of the House of Savoy, Benito Mussolini to travel to Berlin in 1937, various Presidents of the Republic from Luigi Einaudi, Giovanni Gronchi who went to Paris, Saragat, Leone, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi and Sergio Mattarella. On one of his trips, in 1962 he hosted Pope John XXIII to travel to Loreto and Assisi for the upcoming Second Vatican Council. During the open day of Squadra Rialzo Milano Centrale, this was definitely the highlight. I hope you enjoy it.
