33:3322:0A series of Swiss radio broadcast recordings of the great French pianist Marcelle Meyer playing Scarlatti and Mozart in sessions held between 1950 and 1956.

These remarkable performances by the fabled pianist were issued only once, on a deluxe 2-disc set by the now defunct Tahra label, and like all out-of-print Meyer releases this limited edition set fetches top prices at online auctions. (If you can get a copy, I wholeheartedly recommend it: it contains rare photos provided by Meyer's daughter, a complete discography, and the restoration work of these rare recordings by engineer Charles Eddy is truly marvellous!)

Meyer had an incredibly broad repertoire, from the earliest Baroque keyboard works through to the compositions written by her contemporaries in the 20th century. With her trademark crystalline tone, clarity of articulation, stunningly subtle pedal technique, vibrant rhythmic pulse, and refined nuancing, Meyer brings older music to life with tremendous presence and vivacity. These recordings are a welcome addition to the substantial but frequently overlooked discography of this truly phenomenal pianist.
