Today, people very often use mechanisms, various defense mechanisms, which involve hiding their true face, their true face. Very often a person wears a clown mask. He puts on a mask, and under this smiling mask there is a sad, depressed face, often expressing disappointment with life. Where did this mask come from? Why - to survive, to survive. We are afraid of rejection. This is probably the first motive that makes us put on a mask. We are afraid that when we show our true face, they will reject us.

I was reading today's Gospel, stopped at one sentence and didn't go any further. Saint Ignatius taught that if a person is surprised by the word of God in some place and tastes some content, he should stop and contemplate it, he should continue to taste it.

The sentence that caught my attention is as follows: Jesus did not need any testimony about man, because he himself knew what was hidden in man. We don't have to pretend before the Lord Jesus, because He knows us inside and out. What's more, Jesus knows us so deeply, he knows the whole truth about us, that even if we wanted to, we wouldn't be able to hide anything.

I once read such a story, very beautiful, simple, but expressing a deep truth. Two children, a sister and a brother, are playing in the yard. The boy has a job, he shoots from right to left and it so happened that he accidentally hit a duck - he hunted a duck. Seeing what he did, he takes the poor duck, already dead, and throws it into the bushes. He is afraid of his grandmother because it was his grandmother's favorite duck, even his grandmother named it. The children are returning home, on the way his little sister comes up to him and says: did you think no one saw this? I saw everything. Now you'll have to do what I tell you, or I'll hand you over to your grandma. It's dinner, grandma says: - Please get rid of the dishes. The girl just looks at her brother knowingly, and he himself starts washing the pots. Saturday. Grandma says we need to tidy up everything in front of the house. The girl just nods to her brother and he starts cleaning himself, and that's how the whole week passed. The boy had had enough of this. And he thought, I can't stand it for much longer, I can't live like this any longer. I'll go to my grandma and confess. He went to his grandmother and said: - Grandma, I wanted to tell you something. You see,...
