In the 19th century George Bethune English, who studied Arabic at Harvard University, attained a masters degree. He wanted to prove that English words had Semitic roots in Hebrew by studying Noah Websters 1828 Dictionary. What he actually found was that English words had more of a Semitic root in Arabic. In this video we present our participants with Arabic words and they have to guess what they are in English. Enjoy!
