Born in 1981 in the Ibaragi prefecture, he started listening to classical music and learning piano at a young age. After taking an interest to drums and songwriting during high school, Shirato moved on to study music in college. While writing chamber music and music for orchestras, he began playing bass in his third year of college and worked as a bassist after graduation.
He began working as a songwriter in 2007 and currently provides music for various artists as well as session work.
Shirato currently works as the in-house songwriter for DreamMonster.
His work spans from heartfelt ballads to anime and idol music that makes full use of his piano and string arrangements.
From anime opening/ending tracks, TV theme music, background music, pachinko machine music, film music, and games music, he works on the frontlines of the Japanese music industry.
