I was sound recordist on this 8 week filming trip round the Pacific from Tahiti to Japan. Alan Whicker had a unique style and talent and was the leading travel documentary presenter for four decades from the 50s to the nineties. His unmistakable voice and style of writing made him instantly recognisable and much imitated.
