Saved from a wild fire in 2022, Minnekhada Regional Park is a beautiful park with marshes, wild life and a GREAT view.

During this two hour hike I explore the park and talk with a park volunteer about the wild fire that almost devastated the park.

MORE ABOUT THE PARK:
Minnekhada Regional Park

Forest, marsh and rocky outcrops make this regional park a gem to explore any time of year.

The network of quiet trails are great places to hike and watch for wildlife. It is also home to Minnekhada Lodge, a 1930s country estate with spectacular views of the Pitt River.

Oliver Road in Minnekhada Regional Park is now closed to vehicles. This closure is based on bear activity in the immediate area and is expected to last about four months. The road remains open to pedestrians and cyclists. Vehicles can access the park using the Quarry Road Entrance.

If you see a bear - give it space! Stay at least 100 metres away, and be prepared to retrace your route to avoid a bear. Keeping your distance helps keep people safe and bears wild.
