Welcome back to the woodshop! We have been buried in wood working projects recently so I've been dying to do some metalwork! With Father's Day this weekend, I really wanted to come up with an awesome gift for my Dad that he could use here when he's in the shop. Something I have always been interested in but for whatever reason have never purchased is a marking knife. Marking knives can be a great tool for making precise lines in joinery. I had a few pieces of hardened steel in the shop so I figured it would be the perfect project and an awesome gift for my Dad! This marking knife was so much fun to make and truly is going to be incredibly handy in the shop. The ability to create useful things is one of my main goals in life, and getting to use the tools we make ourselves is the most gratifying thing there is. Get out there and make something!
