UK - On the 12th October 2016 there was a discussion in the House of Lords, Oral Questions, about the Department for Education sharing details with the Home Office.

On October 6th 2016 the Department of Education, in a reply to a Freedom of Information request, revealed that they had shared children's data from the National Pupil Database with the Home Office "under section 24 or 24A of the Immigration Act 1971, or section 35 of the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants) Act 2004"

In this debate it was stated that such data "...is not given to the Home Office. There has been some mischief in the press about this, but I reassure the House [of Lords] that the information is kept within the Department for Education and is not passed on to the Home Office."

Contradictory messages coming from UK Government as to how children's data is shared.
