Years ago I recieved many heirloom seeds as a gift. The zip lock just read in black marker label "yellow meated watermelon." At the time my love for gardening had begun but my melon growing skills werent exactly up to par. But these seeds sparked an interest in me to learn more about its history. From what I read this was a "Desert King" variety that were grown out in Arkansas mostly and had an exceptional heat-tolerance.
