PUTIN'S WAR: Moscow denies attack on children's clinic! "Work of the Ukrainian air defense!"

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, condemns the recent Russian missile attacks on densely populated areas in Ukraine and a children's hospital in the capital Kiev. "Among the victims were the sickest children in Ukraine," he said in Geneva. Shockingly, the intensive care unit of Ukraine's largest children's hospital was severely damaged in one of the attacks and the dialysis department was destroyed. "This is abhorrent," said Türk. "Those who have influence must do everything they can to stop these attacks immediately."

Almost 40 people were killed in the rocket attacks on Monday. One of the largest children's clinics in Kiev was badly damaged. Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke of 16 injured in the hospital, including seven children. Two of the injured died.

Russia, meanwhile, denies any involvement, claiming that the missile strike was a Ukrainian mistake. A western-style anti-aircraft missile hit the hospital. WELT Russia correspondent Christoph Wanner reports from Moscow.
