Mohammad Natsir is a very simple figure. He doesn't have good clothes and his patches are patched. He is remembered as a homeless minister and refused to be given the gift of a luxury car. Haji Agus Salim said that because of the concern with the clothes worn by Mohammad Natsir, there were several staff from the Ministry of Information who wanted to raise money for Natsir, so that he could dress more properly, because his shirt was only two suits and was worn.
When he resigned from the position of Prime Minister in March 1951, his secretary handed him the remaining tactical funds with many balances under the Prime Minister's right. But Mohammad Natsir refused, the funds were transferred to the employee's cooperative without being taken by him. He died on February 6, 1993 in Jakarta, and was buried a day later.
