The Express Entry system was introduced in 2015 by the Trudeau government to encourage fast track immigration. It encourages young individuals with educational qualification with good understanding of english and/or french to become a Permanent Resident of Canada.

The Express Entry system is a points based system which creates a pool of candidates and invites profiles that are above the monthly cut off score. I will be discussing the Federal Skilled Workers scheme which can be used by Canadian Experience Class as well. These schemes usually require a college or university education and decent command on english and/or french.

Broadly speaking the CRS is based on four things Age, English, Education, Experience (A. E. E. E.). The best age to apply is between 25–32, below or above you loose points per year.

For the sake of convenience I’m breaking down the process in following Steps -

The first step should be to get the Educational Credentials assessed.
The most common way of doing this is by creating an account with World Education society.
After creating your account and making the payment a candidate must request a new set of academic transcripts (marksheets) for all their educational qualifications (degree, PhD, diploma above the high school level) for each courses from the respective Universities.
The original copy of these documents are to be then physically mailed to the WES in Canada in a sealed envelope by the University itself. In case the University doesn’t provide mailing facility, you may take empty envelopes and have them sealed and signed by the University as the sender and address WES Canada as the receiver. In no case you must appear to have access to the documents in order to eliminate probability of fraud.
The assessment usually take 30–45 days after the receipt of the physical documents.
Book your English/French exam
There are majorly two major options available to prove your English ability IELTS(general) and CELPIP. CELPIP doesn’t happen in all the countries, therefore, IELTS is the popular choice.
IELTS is been conducted by IDP and British Council. The CIC requires around Canadian level benchmark (CLB) 9 and above for a decent CRS score. So, the golden score in IELTS happens to be Listening 8, Reading 7, Writing 7 and Speaking 7. (8,7,7,7). Anything below this can cost you around 50 points on your CRS.
The results usually take around 18 days from the exam and exam frequency depends on the country you write from.
If you are fluent in French then you also must consider taking TEF for getting more points on CRS.
Get your Work experience together
In order to prove your work experience you need to identify your National Occupation Code. It has categorized almost all the identifiable jobs available in the market.
The CIC counts a maximum 3 years of International work experience so any experience over that weighs in equally. It is helpful if you have been working under the same NOC as work experience for each NOC is counted separately.
If you are an employee you can collect your payslips (past 6 months) , tax returns ( past 3 years) and work experience certificate from each of your employer.

The CIC needs to be satisfied that the candidate will be manage to survive after arriving and expects around $12500 CAD as your savings.
The CIC requires 6 months of bank statement to satisfied that the funds belong to the candidate and are not borrowed.

At this step, you may be asked for the WES file number and IELTS/CELPIP test result number but won't be required to upload any documents.
This profile can be edited or changed in case you get a better English result or obtained another educational qualification. This profile is valid only for a year and precedence is given to older applications. You can always delete the profile and create afresh but never create two profile for the same candidate.

At the time of writing a good score is anything above the 490 mark, which means that you may be required to have a Masters level degree/diploma and an 8777 IELTS score.
You may obtain additional points using a Provincial nomination program, getting a Canadian Job offer, having Canadian siblings/ blood relatives, a Professional certificate of qualification, and obtaining a Canadian degree/diploma.

If the CRS draw drops below your score, you will be invited to apply for a Permanent Residency of Canada within 48 hours of the draw. Congratulations, its a mazel tov moment and you can pat your back for getting there.
This is now official and now you may be required to submit all your documents into your profile and will be required to pay the fee for assessment which is around $1200 CAD.
This will be then followed by a medical examination and police clearance certificate recent to 6 months which will also have to be submitted in addition to the aforementioned documents.
