Almost 40 Cr people in India who are directly or indirectly affected by disability are unable to travel, go on holidays or go for a stroll in the park. Squadron Leader Abhai Pratap Singh (Retd) says it is not the inability of an affected person that comes in the way of his leading a normal life, but the society's inability to provide for accessible solutions and the intent to understand the needs of a person with disability. The need of the hour is rethinking design solutions, and rise out of the apathy towards disabled through awareness and adopting universal design. Accessibility, Inclusion, Acceptance and respect are the keys to being a changemaker so that the society's disability can be overcome. Sqn Ldr Abhai Pratap Singh (Retd.) is an Indian Air Force veteran by training, a Wheelchair Cricketer by passion and a Marathoner by choice. He takes life and its challenges head on and lives it up. With an aim to help people cope with different abilities, he spearheads the movement to give them equal opportunities, and took to sports, particularly cricket, as a medium of rehabilitation and mainstreaming differently abled individuals. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
