Niterói, city of the State of Rio de Janeiro. It integrates the Metropolitan Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro and boasts the highest MHDI (Municipal Human Development Index).
It is about 15km from the city of Rio de Janeiro, separated by the famous Ponte-Rio Niterói, which for many years was the longest bridge in the world, with 13 kilometers in length, cutting Guanabara Bay.

In economic terms, Niterói has the fifth largest GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in the State.

Niterói is the third city that receives the most tourists from the State of Rio de Janeiro, behind only the capital and Búzios. The city basically attracts by its cultural and historical centers and by its beautiful ocean beaches, among which the beaches of Itacoatiara, Itaipu, Camboinhas and Piratininga stand out. At the same time, the city's hotel chain is very limited. This is due to the fact that most tourists come to Niterói as an extension to the city tour of Rio, that is, they spend only a day or two in the city, but stay in the capital.

Among its most visited attractions are Praia de Icaraí, in the main neighborhood of Niterói, with stones from Itapuca and Índio; the Niemeyer Way, an architectural ensemble that contains, as cultural centers, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Juscelino Kubitschek Square, the Popular Theater of Niterói, the Charitas Water Station, the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation and the Complexo dos Fortes de Niterói. Icaraí is the main neighborhood of Niterói, has beautiful urbanism and contains two famous natural monuments, the stones of Itapuca and the Indian, points for local fishermen and lovers of Icaraí Beach and the rest of Guanabara Bay, bearing the title of being a of the most beautiful, cosmopolitan and thriving neighborhoods in the city.
