I built these planter boxes as a birthday gift for my mom so she can grow produce in her backyard.

This is a simple design that looks beautiful and is easy to build

Minimal tools needed:
Circular or Mitre Saw
Power Drill
Tape Measure

If you don't have a saw, you can even get your lumber cut at the store if you take them a cut list.

At the time of building these in July 2020, it cost me $107 Canadian to build one planter. Prices have increased since then, and vary from region to region. Your best bet will always be to find a local lumber mill and get rough cut wood, in which case, a 2x4 is a true 2"x4", vs store bought is 1.5" x 3.5", and same with 2x6 etc, so you'll need to make some adjustments to cuts.

Plantable area = 42" Long x 15" Wide x 11" Deep
Outside dimensions = 48" x 18" x 24"

If you'd like to purchase full, printable plans that I created, including a material and cut list for ONE planter, check out my Etsy store page. You may use these plans to build multiple single boxes, however the cut list is optimized to build one.
