For many years the Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway has held 'DAY OUT with THOMAS' events in May, July and September using two of its locomotives - SBCR 'Bullock'-class 4-6-2 Nos.1001 "The Monarch" and 1002 "The Empress" as Gordon the Big Engine and Henry the Green Engine respectively as well as changing the cover on ELR 0-6-0DH No.92 "Florence" to one of Thomas the Tank Engine himself.

However, the event on September 8th and 9th 2018 was to be the ELSR's last as the licence that permitted them to run the locomotives in this way is no longer going to be renewed. In view of this, the railway decided to put on a big show for all the passengers who came to ride the trains.

In addition to "The Monarch" and "The Empress", the two larger SBCR 'Bullock'-class 4-6-2 Nos.2005 "Silver Jubilee" and 2006 "Edward VIII" were in action both assisting Thomas's train and acting as spare/relief engine respectively.

Shots of locomotives appear in the following order...
Thomas+Silver Jubilee
Henry (includes Henry's Broken Whistle)
Gordon
Edward VIII
Thomas+Henry+Gordon (finale)

Filmed on Sunday 9th September 2018.
