Benut is a mukim (administrative division) in Pontian District, Johor, Malaysia. It is situated near the border with Singapore and is accessible by road or rail. The name "Benut" comes from the Malay word for "a place of refuge". The area was once a major rubber plantation and was used as a shelter for fleeing locals during World War II.
