Enjoy the shenanigans of our 10 days around the Ring Road + the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and West Fjords in a campervan!



Visiting Iceland soon? Here are some things we wish we would've known:

- Even with the camping card (which is only good for 2 adults), you will often pay for parking at popular sites, showers at campsites, and sometimes a local tax fee.
- HAVE A BACKPLAN PLAN. The weather changes so fast!
- Regularly check the Icelandic weather website and road conditions website.
- Sometimes campground showers wont have hot water, sometimes the showers are communal.
- Campsites that are included on the camping card are usually more on the fringe, located in obscure areas, etc. But sometimes great!
- THE WEST FJORDS are not for the weak!! Roads are gravel, winding, and often scale the side of a mountain. It can be very sketchy to drive along, so make sure you are a confident driver and again, check weather and road conditions.
- For puffins, go to the SECOND puffin location in our video (in the Northeast), don't waste your time driving the sketchy roads to the Latrabjarg Cliffs.
