This time, we walked around the shopping district around Nantaru Market in Otaru City, Hokkaido, Japan.
The video starts at the intersection of Irifune Jujigai, and proceeds along National Route 5 towards Sapporo.
As you walk, you can see the fire watchtower built in 1927 on your right at 00:32.
At 03:00, you will find Sumiyoshi Shrine, which is preparing for a festival. Old shops are lined up around this shrine.
Going further, you will pass Okusawa Jujigai, cross the Katsunaigawa River, and then on the left you will find Nantaru Market at 07:54. This shoot took place during the day on a weekday. Still, on holidays the parking lot fills up.
Cross the intersection of Ryutokuji Temple, the oldest temple in Otaru, and turn off the national highway onto a narrow road, heading towards the back of Nantaru Market.
This street still retains the atmosphere of the 1970s.
When you get to the Wakamatsu Line, there are also several shops here, and at 17:35 you will find a noodle factory beloved by locals.
If you take a stroll around the area after shopping at Minamitaru Market, you may find something interesting.
