Nako village is located near the Indo-Tibet Border in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. Nako village is at an elevation of 3,625 metres. Nako is the gateway to the Spiti Valley. Nako Lake is an integral part of the Nako village.
The lake has boating facilities during the summer months and ice skating is practiced on the lake's surface which gets frozen during the winter months.
There is a rock here which is believed to have the foot print of Padmasambhava.
Nako Monastery is one of the oldest monastery in Spiti Valley, Dater 1025 AD. The new Monastery of Nako was built in 2007 and was inagurated by the His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Reo Purgyil the highest peak in Himachal Pradesh 6816 mtr is clearly visible from the Nako Village.
