We brought our custom made DESCO dive helmet to Vortex Springs to explore and swim in the fresh, crystal clear water of a Florida spring.

Everyone here at the Brass Hat Diver took part in designing this helmet and this was the end result. Our main goal was to make a light weight helmet with a large front port. We picked and chose our favorite parts from many different styles of helmets, and we even took inspiration from a few famous films. The basic design of our bailout setup came from the 1954 Disney film "20000 Leagues Under The Sea." The famous John Wayne film "Reap The Wild Wind" gave us the idea for the carrying handle on top of the bonnet.

We wanted to give a big thank you to everyone at DESCO for all their hard work into making our helmet sketch a reality.
