After a three-day writing retreat, I hiking up the Manitou Incline in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The incline was originally a cable car track that was decommissioned in the 1990s. It has been a popular hiking spot for years. It is 2,000 feet of elevation gain over less than 1 mile. It was challenging but so worth it. I completed the Incline in 1 hour 8 minutes which included a five minute break at the bailout spot near step 1,800. Great views all the way to the top! I took the Barr Trail down the mountain which was beautiful.
