Dewsbury is located near to Huddersfield, Wakefield and Leeds and is a town famous for its 'mill town' past. The town centre has some stunning architecture in its old buildings including the town hall and the minster. it is also, however, a town that seems to have garnered a negative press reaction in recent years.

Many videos seem to exist of those who believe Dewsbury, as a place, is finished. But what I've seen from various online groups there are people in Dewsbury who are fiercely protective and loyal to their town, its history, its culture and its buildings and are trying to put steps in place to help it.

In this video I walk around the town centre and some of the outskirts and see what I can find. Yes, there are abandoned buildings ....but if you watch my channel, you know I love them!

My hope is that this video goes against the norm of the others, and shows positive sides of the town. Places can bounce back, and the actual structure of Dewsbury is solid.....fingers crossed the hard work of those who live there can turn its fortunes around. 💚
