Special episode of 'ANDO EN BUS' (RIDING BUSES in English) with a round trip on the first interurban electric bus in Chile, unit 3000 of 'TurBus' inaugurated in early 2019. I was able to coordinate with the titular driver of this bus , 'Enrique Vásquez', and we did the complete trip 'Santiago - Rancagua' in addition to talking about life, the nature of the route, the types of passengers who make it and the typical landscapes that it is possible to see.
This bus is the first electric unit for intercity services in all of South America, in addition to other buses of the same model working in private services, mainly as transportation of mining personnel in the company 'Tandem'.
The 'King Long XMQ 6130 EYWE5' model is brought from China by 'Vivipra', it has 42 plush seats with 'Classic' category, a bathroom, autonomy of 250 km and has different charging times (a day charger and another night charger for better energy use). This bus has a license plate LBXF77, registered in February 2019.
After the trip and a pleasant conversation, I recorded an interview with 'Enrique' so that he could tell us more details about his work on this electric bus, the technical characteristics of this electric bus and how this unit has been received in everyday life .
