(WARM-UP) Share one of your earliest memories of going to the movies.



1. Who is a role model for you? What are some things you admire about that person?


2. These are the examples used in the video of movies that echoed the cross: Braveheart, Alien3, Spider-Man 2, Cool Hand Luke, Dead Man Walking, E.T., The Matrix, and The Iron Giant. Can you think of any others?


3. Tell about someone in your life who you think echoes the cross.


4. What are some small ways we echo the cross in our lives every day?


5. Part of echoing the cross is emptying ourselves (giving sacrificially of ourselves) for the sake of others. Is there a limit to this? Are there things you would/should never sacrifice? What are times or situations when we need to guard or protect ourselves instead?


6. Have you ever known anyone who has a messiah complex? What did that look like? How do we echo the cross without falling into that trap?
