We believe that the stimulus that pushed us to create this documentary, was mainly due to the sentiment of frustration regarding the status quo content that currently exists regarding Johnny Kitagawa.

We were frustrated to find that none of the status quo content regarding Kitagawa actually discussed and let people know of his background in-depth.

We were frustrated at the deep-rooted misunderstanding in which many people have in regards to Kitagawa’s history of se**** crimes against minors, in thinking that this was some top-level secret knowledge, only known by a handful of people in Japan over the decades. But as you’ll discover from this documentary, his crimes were literally an undoubtable “public” knowledge in Japan, all the way back from the 1980s.

We were frustrated to see how the status quo content regarding Kitagawa that exists as of now, over-simplifies the whole case, and just emotionlessly gives a sentence-long answer as to exactly why he was allowed to commit such heinous se**** offenses to hundreds, more realistically thousands of male minors over an almost 70 year time-span, of a cookie-cutter answer something in the lines of,

“Johnny Kitagawa was powerful, so hard for victims to speak, and Japan also likes to hide things”.

And last but not least, we were frustrated to witness how the majority of people who do not understand the below-the-iceberg details of this case believe that as the Executives at Johnny Kitagawa’s agency have now conducted a deep, saikeirei bow of apology, a closure has been made for the victims.

But as you can understand from this documentary, this case is by far, far from having reached a proper closure for the victims, with some clear under-the-surface, passive-aggressive moves made by Johnny’s agency (regarding their choice of the new CEO, treatment towards some of the victims, and more).

And intense frustration can oftentimes lead to answers.

So while our documentary may seem long on the first glance, if you actually watch the video while firmly keeping in mind of the overarching questions in which we aim to answer along with the designated timestamps, we believe that you’ll feel this documentary to go by a lot faster than you think.

And those overarching questions are:

(1) How did Johnny Kitagawa rise to power, and why was he so protected in the Japanese society?

(2) Why did none of Johnny Kitagawa’s victims move to convict him after the Weekly Bunshun v Johnny & Associates trial in 2004, where the Tokyo High Court ruled the se**** assault allegations against Kitagawa to be true?

(3) Why hasn’t a proper closure still not been made for the victims, despite all the surface-level apologies and promises of financial compensation?
