The birthplace of Saltwater Flyfishing is unquestionably Florida and the Florida Keys. I had the opportunity to fish out from Big Pine Key with legendary flats guide Capt. Lenny Moffo, as an invitation from Gary Loomis back in 2000. I managed to land one estimated at 120 lbs and jumped another two in a week of fishing - it's a tough fishery!

I really wanted to have another crack at the "Silver King" and booked a week's fishing with another legend, Capt. Jarad "Dingo" Boshammer - who is originally from Hervey Bay and the son of well-known local angler, skipper, guide and real estate agent Sid Boshammer.

There really is nothing like sight fishing to giant tarpon in gin clear water - with some fish clearly in excess of one hundred and fifty pounds!
