Jamaica is back in the men's 100 meters after a long hiatus since 2017. The major achievement signaling the return was the 4th-place finish by Oblique Seville at the 2022 World Championships 100m final in Eugene, Oregon, and also another 4th-place finish and an 8th-place finish by Oblique Seville and Ryiem Forde, respectively, at the 2023 World Championships 100m final in Budapest, Hungary. However, there is much more evidence of a revival.

Kishane Thompson's 2023 season has been a whirlwind of remarkable achievements and encounters with some of the fastest sprinters in the world.
