This tutorial is done in the Overlay Mosaic Crochet Technique. In this tutorial I will teach you how to crochet this eye catching Mosaic Crochet design.

This pattern is worked in a MULTIPLE of 10 + 4. ROW START TIMES PROVIDED BELOW. Additional info provided below for working in the round as well.

TO REPEAT THE DESIGN FOR LARGER PROJECTS YOU WILL WORK ROWS 1 THRU 11 AND THEN WORK ROWS 2 THRU 11 AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WOULD LIKE FOR THE PROJECT YOU CHOOSE.
You can end your project by working Row 11 as your final row.

💥How much yarn for your project:    • How much YARN is NEEDED for a PATTERN...

I recommend using the below hook sizes depending on yarn used:
3 DK yarn : 3.5mm to 4.5mm
Size 4 Medium/worsted weight: 4.5mm to 5.5mm.
Mixing 3 & 4 weight: 3.5mm to 4.5mm
SIZE 1 Lace Weight - 2.75mm to 3mm hook used on top down slouchy hat

HOW MUCH YARN FOR YOUR PROJECT: The best way to figure out how much yarn you need is to create a one repeat swatch and then measure how much yarn you used of EACH color. This video walks you through the math:    • How much YARN is NEEDED for a PATTERN...

Note on mixing yarn sizes 3 (DK) & Size 4 (Medium Worsted weight): THE TRICK TO MIXING YARN SIZES IS JUST KEEPING YOUR TENSION EVEN AND USING THE SMALLEST SIZE HOOK RECOMMENDED FOR THE SMALLER YARN! You can use any yarn size you like and can use yarn that is all the same size, you do not have to mix yarn sizes.

PROJECT IDEAS
This design is best suited for Top down constructed projects. You can create any project you like from Mosaic Crochet.
Working flat or in the round, you can make, Zipper Down Purses, Notions Pouches, Make-up Bags, Laptop bags, Sweaters, Kimonos, Scarves & Shawls. ALL of these projects and more can be made using the upright and/or upside down versions of the design. EXAMPLE: you can switch direction mid Scarf/Shawl to allow the direction of the PATTERN to be in the correct direction when the item is worn around the neck/body.

Project info and starting:
To begin your project you will chain in multiples of 10 plus 4 at the end to work a flat piece. You will skip the first chain and begin working in the second chain from the hook, ending up with an odd number of stitches. EXAMPLE: I chained 24 and had 23 stitches at the end of my first Foundation Row.

TO WORK IN THE ROUND: chain in multiples of 10 and slip stitch to the first chain. begin working the repeat in the first stitch [same stitch you slip stitches into] and follow the Repeat as given in the video.
