The villains in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a rather overshadowed part of the anime. It's a shame because Aura the Guillotine, Lugner, Linie, Macht, & Solitar bring a fresh take on the plainest villain concept, but it also has a strong psychological basis, based on one of the darkest corners of a real human personality.
