Resilience has become a popular topic in the past several years. A quick Google search brings back countless resources recommending a variety of ways for individuals to “bounce back” stronger than ever. But traditional views of resilience and focusing on perseverance and individual self-care is often not enough, and can leave people feeling isolated.

My own search for a better understanding of resilience uncovered interrelated components such as hope, purpose, connection, and wellbeing. I discovered that resilience is not a quality people have or don’t have, but is a set of processes that can be learned and practiced.
