#1:
During Azeroth's primordial era, two races arose from the Old Gods' blighted forms: the n'raqi, also known as the Faceless Ones, and the Aqir. The Faceless Ones served as taskmasters for the aqir, forcing them to build large structures for the Old Gods, while also constituting an important part of the Black Empire's armies. The forces of the Old Gods often fought each other, with n'raqi on all sides, and some of the strongest Faceless ones in Cataclysm are veterans of those ancient battles.

#2:
The strongest and most important of the n'raqi are the C'Thraxxi, commonly known as the Faceless generals. They usually serve as protectors and commanders of the Old Gods' armies, and are so powerful that they can drive even titan-forged beings to madness.

#3:
In ancient times, the Titanic Watcher Tyr gave his life fighting two Faceless generals in what would become Tirisfal Glades, killing one and greviously wounding the other. The surviving C'Thraxxi, named Kith'ix, fled blindly to the east until he collapsed near the base of the Zandalar Mountains. He was eventually buried by the Loa and entered into a slumber until some rebel trolls awakened him without realizing what he truly was. Now rejuvenated, Kith'ix gathered the aqir scattered across Kalimdor and led them into a large war against the trolls. The Zandalari, however, succeeded in gathering and organizing the trolls and repelling the aqir, scattering them across the world. Kith'ix himself fled northeast and was pursued relentlessly by several troll tribes. After a huge battle, the trolls succeeded in slaying Kith'ix, with great casualties, and founded a new settlement atop his remains: Zul'aman.

#4:
The Faceless Ones made their reappearance in recent history during the Spider War between the Scourge and the Nerubians. As the Nerubians grew more desperate, they began expanding their underground tunnels until they reached the tendrils of the Old God Yogg-Saron himself. The entity sent its armies of Faceless Ones, led by Herald Volazj, against the Nerubians, ensuring their defeat at the hands of the Scourge. The n'raqi were once again stirred several years later due to Illidan's atempt to destroy Northrend and fought against several dwarves who had taken refuge in Azjol-Nerub, and against Arthas himself.

#5:
In ancient times, the area that would become Darkshore was home to a powerful Faceless One known as Soggoth the Slitherer. The Titans sent twenty of their stone giants to defeat the creature, and in the ensuing battle only one giant, named Kronn, managed to survive and slay Soggoth. Following the Shattering, the Twilight's Hammer atempted to ressurect the creature, only to be stopped by the Ancients and Alliance adventurers.
