Aviation friends
That is the jargon of Surya Air which will become one of the main airlines at Dhoho Kediri Airport.
Quoted from various sources, it seems that the most possible operational schedule at this airport is at the end of the year to welcome the Christmas and New Year holidays 2023 – 2024.
The question is, how far has the planning for flight services and airport access facilities gone?
1. December 8 2023 is suspected to be the first operational date for Dhoho Kediri Airport. However, if you look closely at various news narratives, the schedule will be delayed from the set date. The airport authorities, mainly the Kediri Regency Government and PT. SDHI continues to strive for the airport to be operational before the Christmas and New Year holidays. This schedule does not include the first flight test or landing mission at the airport.
2. Currently, PT. Gudang Garam itself already has a subsidiary in the aviation sector called Surya Air. Surya Air airline serves private flights and has several registered fleet units in the form of helicopters, including Eurocopter EC 135 PI, MBB BO 105 CB, BK 117 A4, and BK 117 B1 with flight numbers including PK-FGH and PK-FGJ. Apart from Surya Air, there are several regional airlines ready to fill flight slots at this airport, namely Garuda Indonesia Airway and Super Air Jet.
3. It has been confirmed that Dhoho Kediri Airport will have international airport status. In accordance with projections in the Master Plan, Dhoho Kediri Airport is included in the 4E airport category and is facilitated by a 3,300 x 45 meter runway. Reported from various sources, the 3 main and prime routes that will be served to and from this airport are Jakarta and Denpasar for domestic routes, and Jeddah for international routes. Thus, Surya Air itself will most likely increase its fleet to meet the needs of flight services such as Boeing 777s for international routes, Airbus A320s for domestic services, and ATR 72s for local routes such as Denpasar. The market share to Denpasar is very attractive because there are so many flights there. Meanwhile, the East Java to Denpasar route is still served only from Juanda and Blimbingsari Airports.
4. Reported from various sources, the Kediri Regency Government has provided extraordinary support in the construction of this airport. especially freeing toll roads and accelerating infrastructure development around airports. This toll road was also initiated by PT. Gudang Garam is the Kediri Tulungagung Toll Road with a toll road section of 44.51 KM.
5. Regarding the use of air space with other airports in the vicinity, including the Iswahyudi Magetan Air Base. The Dhoho Kediri airport authority is confident that it can find the best solution, this has also carried out cross-agency communication and consolidation, including with the Ministry of Transportation. So that at the end of this year Dhoho Kediri airport is ready to serve flights to the Kediri area and surrounding areas. So that it can help and facilitate the need for air transportation for all people who need it.
Greetings, Indonesian aviation friends.
