Riding a Yamaha YZF1000R from Devil's Bridge to Kendal on the A6, in pouring rain sounds like quite the adventure! 🏍💨

Devil's Bridge, located in the beautiful countryside of Cumbria, offers some stunning views and challenging roads for motorcyclists. However, riding in heavy rain can pose its own set of challenges, including reduced visibility, slippery roads, and decreased traction.

🌧 Here are some of my tips to keep in mind for riding in the rain: 🌧

Slow down:
Reduce your speed to maintain better control of your bike and give yourself more time to react to any unexpected hazards.

Increase following distance:
Leave extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you to allow for longer stopping distances.

Be smooth:
Make gradual inputs with the throttle, brakes, and steering to avoid sudden movements that could cause loss of traction.

Use proper gear:
Ensure you're wearing appropriate rain gear to stay dry and comfortable during the ride. A good quality rain suit, waterproof boots, gloves, also using Rain-X on the outside of your helmet`s visor can make a big difference.

Watch out for standing water:
Puddles and standing water on the road can hide potholes or other hazards. Try to ride around them when possible.

Stay visible:
Use your headlights and reflective gear to increase your visibility to other motorists, especially in low light or rainy conditions.

Stay focused:
Riding in the rain requires heightened concentration. Keep your eyes scanning the road ahead and be prepared to react to changing conditions.

Take breaks if needed:
If the weather becomes too severe or if you feel fatigued, don't hesitate to pull over and take a break until conditions improve.

Finally... You have to Trust your rubber!

Riding in adverse weather conditions can be challenging, but with proper preparation and caution, you can still enjoy the journey safely. Remember its not the bike you`re riding, it all depends on the "Nut" that connects the seat to the handle bars and arriving at your destination safely is always the most important thing!

Take care, ride safe and have fun! đź•Š
