It was day two at Cobham as Enzo Maresca
and his squad continued their work on the
Surrey-based pitches during the typical
British summer weather. The hard work of pre-season is under way, with Enzo Maresca leading his squad in a day of double training sessions on Tuesday.
The Blues returned to Cobham to begin pre-season on Monday, but with the first-day tests out of the way and after easing his players back into the swing of things with an initial light session on the grass, the hard work was well under way on Tuesday with morning and afternoon sessions out on the pitch.
It wasn't quite the hot summer weather usually expected during pre-season, with much of the work taking place under British summer showers, making good conditions for our goalkeepers at least. It was an important opportunity for new head coach Enzo Maresca to spend plenty of time out on the pitch with his players, as he begins the process of establishing his tactics and vision for Chelsea with the squad.
Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling and
Reece James were among those who
resumed their work from the first day of pre-
season. They were joined by the likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Alfie Gilchrist as the group continued to up their intensity during the double session. New signings Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo and Omari Kellyman were all involved as they continue to adapt to their new environment and into the squad. David Datro Fofana is the latest player to arrive in today’s sessions.
Enzo Maresca wants to give everyone a chance before making decisions on transfers in and out. Enzo Maresca has told Chelsea he needs to access Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu in pre season before any striker can be added if he needs one . He wants to access their ability and fitness.
