Stella goes to the largest state on the peninsular, Pahang. She goes to Kuala Lipis and meets “Abang Alan” who stays near the Jelai River that plies through Kuala Lipis. Here she learns that a type of fish called “ikan Patin” is loved by the locals.

Stella goes fishing for the Patin fish with Abang Alan. Later, stella helps Abang Alan prepares Gulai Tempoyak and a few other traditional Pahang cuisines.

In Kuala LIpis, Stella is also brought into the culture through an elderly couple she meets. Coincidently the couple owns a Patin fish pond.
