Hong Kong Island is the political, economic, financial, trade and commercial center of Hong Kong. Many government departments, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, many large multinational banks, multinational financial institutions, companies, law firms, and foreign consulates are headquartered in Hong Kong Island. There are many famous grade-A commercial buildings and hotels on Hong Kong Island; major central business districts such as Central, Sheung Wan, Admiralty, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, as well as the University of Hong Kong, are also located on Hong Kong Island.
