A giant crocodile came into Welewatta - Navimana road in Matara has been released back to the Nilwala river. The crocodile is more than 17 feet in length and weight about 1000Kg. Department of Wildlife Conservation believes this giant crocodile can be 65 years of age. This is one of the three giant crocodiles living in Nilwala river. The crocodile was released into the Nilwala river without any harm.
