Manny and Jay’s faux-mance is working perfectly. But when Jay gets too serious, Manny reminds him it's all fake. She’s having fun, but the engagement thing is getting old – maybe they should ‘break it off’ after the road trip to Smithdale College. Meanwhile, en route to a concert at Smithdale, Spinner and Jimmy’s car breaks down, so they stop by Jay’s to ask for his help only to discover a weeping Jay and a DVD labeled ‘Manny’s audition’. When they play it, Jay realizes he's made a terrible mistake and knows he must follow Manny and switch the DVDs. Darcy’s parents are at their wits end with their daughter’s erratic behaviour and inform her she’ll be spending her spring break at an intense week of ‘Brat Camp’, hoping she can come to terms with some of her issues. Darcy’s horrified at the prospect, but Peter’s determined to make sure she doesn’t have to go alone…

Season Seven of Degrassi: The Next Generation will venture into new and more provocative territory for adolescents and young adults, as it picks up in the middle of a school year already riddled with tragedy. A fire at Lakehurst, the school of JT's killer, forces many of its students into the halls of Degrassi with explosive results. Amidst the newfound clutter and chaos, Spinner and Darcy deal with dark, personal tragedies, Jimmy and Ashley test their love, and Emma and Manny explore new, surprising relationships - all while hurtling toward graduation. New students struggle to find their places in the school, leading to violence and tears, but also healthy competition and new friendships. At the university house, the gang gets a new roommate, and strays further from the safety of Degrassi. Ellie and Marco discover that exploring their new freedom comes with dire consequences, while Paige, fresh from flaming out of school, gets a great new job, but learns quickly the demands of the real world.
