I decided to upload the whole last session of this weekend's NASA-SE event at Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) because I figured it'd be a little more fun this way to see what I'm doing for several laps instead of one. For this weekend, I got some new tires, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R. These tires a like ice when cold (and it was a chilly weekend), and took over 2 laps before they were hot enough to grip consistently. However, when they're hot, they're great. I may start to experiment with some tires now after these are done, but I have at least one more weekend on them first.

This weekend was my first time at CMP, and it's definitely a challenging course compared to Roebling and even Road Atlanta. It's definitely more brake heavy, and I never reached 5th gear. I managed to run a 1:45.76 on lap 5, even with a little bit of traffic at the end, so I know with a little work I can still shave off a couple more seconds.

It's clear from Road Atlanta in December to now that I've made leaps and bounds in skill on the course, even managing to comment on some other drivers' skills (like the Corvette I pass on lap 4 who needs to work on braking harder and trusting his car a little more), but I still have a lot to learn, especially about consistency on the laps. Hopefully the next time I go to a track I've been to before, I can turn out some good, smooth, and consistent times, but we'll have to wait a while to see.

Come out to some NASA-SE events and say hi! I'm always glad to talk about the cars, the tracks, and to learn new things, and maybe I can even help you get faster, too.

The car is a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach 1.
It wasn't originally a Handling Package, but I bought and installed all of the HP goodies, or have upgraded them. Mods include:
BC Forged RS41 wheels, 19x10.5 front, 19x11 rear.
Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R, 305/30 front, 325/30 rear.
Ford HP front splitter.
APR GTC-200 rear wing (set to 2nd notch).
Maximum Motorsports Camber Plates (-2.5 deg front).
Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust with exhaust modes and X-pipe.
Steeda drop-in cone engine air filter.

Video taken on a Garmin Catalyst.
