This video will be on of my favorite soviet bloc helmets, the Hungarian m70. This helmet very obviously takes inspiration from the the old Soviet ssh-40 in use by many countries for a long time since the end of wwii or the 1950’s. This helmet was developed to offer better protection, more comfort, and have a higher durability then the old ssh-40. Being adopted in the 1970’s the helmet sports better steel, a smaller profile, and an updated more of a suspension style liner with very cushioned pads to help absorb shock. The leather used patina’s well over time to fit the user and doesn’t break down as easy as the tarpaulin/kersey liners of the ssh-40. This helmet would serve until the adoption of the first composite helmet by the Hungarians in the 90’s to 2000’s. There is one variation of this helmet called the m90 which is the same helmet but has a different pain on it to make it less shiny. Hopefully you liked this video and subscribed if you like this sort of stuff. Please leave a comment with any questions, additional information, user experiences, or suggestions for future videos. As always thanks for watching.
